  • 1983 Start using Galvin 2 ¼”x 3 ¼” lightweight view-camera and Kodak VPL film.
  • 1984 Nine day round-trip climb of Denali West Buttress
  • 1984 Design lightweight 4×5 view camera with Peter Gowland. Camera weighs 2 ½ pounds
  • 1985 Three one-day record setting speed ascents on El Capitan, Yosemite Valley. West Face, The Nose, and Salathe Wall. 30-day backpack and climbing trip into remotest regions in High Sierra, shooting large format, and making several significant first ascents
  • 1987 Begin using Linhof IV 4×5 camera and making Cibachrome prints in home darkroom. Begin associations and friendships with carbro and Cibachrome printers: Bob Pace, Michael Wilder, and Joseph Holmes. Longstanding friendships begin with color photographers Steve Solinsky, Galen Rowell, and John Wawrzonek.
  • 1987-1993 Build home in Crowley Lake on the east side of the Sierra Nevada at 7,200’ elevation. House constructed using recycled and reclaimed materials.

  • 1995-2000 Organize exhibits at Mammoth Lakes Foundation and Crossroads Gallery. Artists include Huntington Witherill, Robert Glenn Ketchum, Joseph Holmes, and Heinrich Harrer/Seven Years in Tibet.

  • 2004-2026 Trips to Brooks Range, Alaska extending from De Long Mountains at the Bering Strait in the west, to British Mountains at the Canadian border in the east.
  • 1998-2008 General contractor running a home renovation business with 12 employees. Business usually has three to four significant projects in process during the calendar year.
  • 2008-2024 Facilities Supervisor for Mono County in charge of building maintenance for 1 million square feet of buildings and parks. Also, the new construction manager during the same time.
  • 2023 Self- publish Inside the High Sierra. 55 photographs with forward from Tom Hornbien. Essays from Joseph Holmes, Michael Cohen, Laurel Fiddler, Peter Croft, and Dick Dorworth. Artwork by Valerie Cohen. Winner National Outdoor Book Award for Artistic Design and Merit.
  • 2026 Self-publish The Brooks Range: Journey, Life & Art in the Gwazhal 80 photographs with essays from Roman Dial, Adeline Raboff, Caroline Van Hemert, and Nancy Lord.
  • Current Continuing work in High Sierra and Great Basin with books planned for each project. Building home for daughter Laurel.
  • Prints and or books placed at the following: Museum of Fine Art, Boston, Huntington Library, Nevada Museum of Art, California Nature Art Museum.
